Project Description
The Ecological Conversion Group is a small group of Catholic volunteers based in the UK responding to Pope Francis’s encyclical “Laudato Si” in which he calls for us to become Ecologically Converted. The Ecological Conversion is whereby…
“The effects of our encounter with Jesus Christ become evident in their relationship with the world around us” – Laudato Si
Our current environmental crisis is fueled by our individualistic lifestyles, which not only lead us away from God but are actively harmful to our happiness, our common home and our neighbours. Most of the time we are unaware of how our seemingly mundane everyday actions affect others, or are not sure how to make a change.
We at E.C.G. show how to change this by turning mundane everyday decisions into active service through care of our common home. This involves being informed in order to be able to make decisions out of love for others.
The ecological conversion promotes a life of holiness through exercising virtues and building the kingdom of God. It is putting faith and prayer into meaningful action.
We are based in Arundel and Brighton and Westminster diocese and provide talks and workshops on the Ecological Conversion for parishes, youth groups, schools and conferences.
We have a range of teaching and workshop resources which we are currently working on and will be made available on the resources page of this site.
